BUILD AND DESIGN:
The Redmi 9 Power has matt design and is made up of polycarbonate. They are offering quite a few colour variants which include Mighty Black, Blazing Blue, Fiery Red and Electric Green. They also claim it to have Nano-coating which will protect the phone from splashes. The back houses quad camera array and Redmi branding while the front has a screen with a water-drop style notch. They have also have added rubber gaskets and anti-corrosive ports for added protection from water.
SCREEN:
It houses a 6.53 inch FHD+ IPS LCD display in the 19.5:9 aspect ratio which gives around 83.4% screen-to-body ratio. The panel has got 400 nits of brightness and 395 ppi density. Also, it is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
PERFORMANCE:
Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor sits as the brain of the smartphone which is an 11nm CPU paired with Adreno 610 GPU. It is an octa-core processor with 4x 2.0 GHz Kryo 260 Gold and 4 x 260 silver cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. The phone comes with 4GB of RAM in both the storage options.
SOFTWARE:
CAMERA;
The rear of the phone possess four cameras with the main lens being a 48MP shooter with f/1.8 aperture, 8MP ultrawide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and 120° field-of-view, 2MP macro lens with f/2.4 aperture and finally a 2MP camera with f/2.4 aperture lens. This setup can record videos at 1080p@30 fps.
The front of the phone houses a 8MP selfie shooter f/2.0 lens. It will also record video up to 1080p@30 fps.
BATTERY:
This is where I think the phone got it’s name as it houses a mammoth 6000mAh battery with 18watt fast charging support. Xiaomi will provide a 22.5 watt charger out-of-the-box and it will support reverse charging as well.
OTHERS:
It supports LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.1 storage type on base model whereas the higher end model has UFS 2.2 type storage, has USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer, headphone jack, an IR blaster, stereo speakers, dual SIM 4G support, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, FM radio, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, dual band Wi-Fi, and all other necessary sensors.
The base variant comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage (₹10,999) and the top end variant has 4GB RAM and 128GB of storage(₹11,999).
