New Zealand had far more experience in their deck than any other team, while they had the likes of 37-year-old Suzie Bates, 35-year-old Sophie Devine, and other campaigners in Maddy Green and Lea Tahuhu.

The highest run-scorer in the history of the tournament, Suzie Bates, also seemed their highest scorer in the tournament this time around, while skipper Devine too led by example. However, in the final as well as in all matches played previously, all-rounder Amelia Kerr was New Zealand’s best player to look at.

Even in the final match, Bates alongside Kerr and later supported well off by Halliday, New Zealand could post a decent total of 158. New Zealand can undoubtedly be said to be the best bowling side, where Kerr again led from the front with her leg spin.

Alongside other bowlers, Mair, Carson, and Tahuhu, Amy Kerr picked a 3-fer to lead the Kiwis to an easy win that earned them their maiden Women’s T20 World Cup title. She was placed the Player of the Match as well as Player of the Tournament for an exquisite 135 runs with the bat and 15 wickets with the ball.
